Lesley has been painting for over 25 years, teaching the mediums of watercolour, oil, acrylic and pastel also. Her philosophy is that painting is a release of the spirit within, through expression and learning of the different mediums. So therefore it is fantastically beneficial for wellness and healing.
Those who come to art classes and art workshops with Lesley in her Hibiscus Coast home have comprehensive teaching with a few others in a relaxed and really friendly atmosphere.
Lesley's paintings are in collections in many countries, including Germany, England, U.S.A. Being asked to exhibit on the restored sailing ship ‘James Craig’ a few years ago in Sydney at its relaunching after restoration was a huge highlight of her painting career.
Lesley lives at Manly Beach on the Whangaparaoa Peninsula (the 'Hibiscus Coast' in Rodney District) which has a tremendous influence on subject matter. She is a “sea” person through involvement in boating - kayaking, and these days cruising the Gulf in ‘Korama’ a Logan-built launch which is nearly 100 year old, with her husband Gus, a huge supporter and help (framing). All subject matter interests her but marine subjects are some of her favourites to paint. Lesley has done a lot of commission work in the past and is available for more.

Great Manly Art Show
Every year Lesley runs the Great Manly Art Show in her front garden on or around the 28th December if it is not a public holiday. Over 5000 folk usually attend, and numbers are still increasing. Over 250 paintings from local & Shore artists are on display. The local pipe band marches along the beach and entertains for many hours. The Great Manly Art Show has been held for 23 years and has become an institution at Manly and is greatly looked forward to every year.
Lesley has two children, a daughter and a son and a grandson and granddaughter, a dog, cat and 6 goldfish. |
